I've admired some of the works of Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, especially his book Change or Purpose on cosmic and biological evolution. The recitation of the Passion Narrative on Palm Sunday has always been a high point in my memory. As of this writing, I know of 17 separate bishops who have responded to the announcement that Notre Dame would be honoring President Obama at this year's commencement.
